Nordic Changemaker Map
Voicing out trends, needs and Changemakers in Sweden
The Swedish leg of the Nordic Changemaker Map aims to identify Swedish Changemakers and map their needs, milestones and connections in order to evolve the ecosystem for social entrepreneurship. The Swedish map is powered by Ashoka Nordic and Reach for Change, in partnership with Postcode Foundation (Postkodsstiftelsen).
Secretary General of the Swedish Postcode Foundation.
“Social entrepreneurs are key when finding new ways of solving societal challenges, but the sector, particularly in Sweden, is faced with multiple obstacles. Hence, we are proud to support Ashoka Nordic to both stimulate collaboration within the sector and identify concrete measures to address the obstacles, and suggest solutions to strengthen the sector over time”
The Swedish map sets out to interview 80 social entrepreneurs, young Changemakers and joint initiatives, as well as collect the work and experiences of additional 200 Swedish Changemakers. The initiative will result in a set of digital maps, trends-analysis and recommendations, and an event series that invites ecosystem actors to think, explore and act together. Moreover, through the Swedish map we are also intending to craft an action plan for social entrepreneurship and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Swedish map will focus on 3 categories of Changemakers:
Young Changemakers (16-25 years old)
Changemaker initiatives (between 2 or more organisations that work to create societal change)
The Swedish map will contribute to the Nordic-wide map, in which the regional trends, actors, needs and ideas will be compiled to a joint Nordic Changemaker Map.
Who is a Changemaker?
The Nordic Changemaker Map defines a changemaker as a: person or project that has identified a societal challenge, developed a solution, and assembled a team to solve the problem in practice.
Mapping and assessment of the situation of the Swedish Changemaking ecosystem. The result is a digital, visualized mapping, recommendations for strengthening the ecosystem, and a series of events, as well as an action plan on the SDGs.
We want to create a collaborative platform for change agents, facilitate cross-thematic cooperation and help new actors find onboard onto the ecosystem.
Strengthening the ecosystem of Changemakers and social entrepreneurs so that change agents are in the best possible position to influence the development of society in their own field.
We measure our success by increasing awareness (Changemaking and the opportunities it brings) and by increasing the cooperation of Changemakers.

Organizations and projects that are well-established and have been active in the field for at least one year are invited. *

Scaling and transparency
The changemaker likes to share his idea with others and is ready to scale the solution to accelerate effectiveness.
The change agent is open to cooperation with other actors.
*For young Changemakers and initiatives / networks, this criterion is applied slightly differently.
